Army Starts Training for Agniveers Under the Agnipath Scheme

Today saw the beginning of the first batch of aspiring Agniveers’ training across the nation. Under the Agnipath Scheme, which was introduced in June, these young men began a new chapter in their life. Those that completed rigorous testing and trials will now have to put in a lot of work over the following six months. They will be prepared to serve the country in a significant capacity after completing the course.

The Indian Army reports that the recruitment procedure for the initial group of “Agniveers” under the Agneepath Scheme is nearly finished. Between December 25 and December 31, 2022, those who were recruited reported to various divisional centers of the army, and as of today, training has begun in each of these regimental and training facilities. The first group of “Agniveers” to join at the Corps of Military Police (CMP) in Bengaluru for training includes women as well.

Where is the training taking place of Agniveers?

The regimental centers where the first batch of agniveers’ training has begun include the Armored Corps Training Centre in Ahmednagar, the Artillery Training Center in Nashik, the Artillery Training Center in Hyderabad, the Jakrif Regimental Center in Jabalpur, the One STC in Jabalpur, and the Corps of Military Police in Bengaluru (Karnataka) for women Agniveers, Punjab Regimental Center, Sikh Regimental Center, Bihar Regimental Center, Danapur (Bihar), Kumaon Regimental Center, Ranikhet (Uttarakhand), Two (02) STC, Goa, and The Guards Regimental Center, Nagpur (Maharashtra).

When the government announced the implementation of the Agneepath scheme for armed forces recruiting in June 2022, everything got underway. This plan is only intended to enlist soldiers, not military officers.

The warriors hired through this Agneepath plan will be referred to as Agniveers. These Agniveers will all enlist for four years in the military. Four years of service will be required for the review. Only 25% of Agniveers will be eligible to continue serving in the army after the review, while the other 75% will be retired. After four years of service, the Agniveer will be referred to as a soldier and given the same ranks as regular soldiers, such as Lance Naik, Naik, Havaldar, etc.

40,000 Agniveers will be hired in total under the Agneepath scheme in the first year, or (2022-23), according to the Indian Army. According to earlier reports, by 2032, roughly half of the Indian Army will be made up of “Agniveers,” with the other half being normal soldiers.
