The training of the first batch of Agniveers has started. The training of agniveers of the Army, Air Force, and Navy is going on in different parts of the country. The training of these Agniveers will last for 6 months. After that, they will be deployed.

How is Training of the First Batch of Agniveers going on?

The central government launched the ‘Agneepath’ scheme in June last year. Under this, the youth will be recruited into the army for four years. This recruitment will be done in all three armies. The youth recruited under the Agneepath scheme is called ‘Agniveer’.

Under this scheme, youths between the age of 17.5 years to 21 years will be recruited into the army. However, in 2022, youth up to 23 years could be admitted under this scheme. But now its age limit is only 21 years. After four years, 25 percent of Agniveers will be retained in the army.

All three armies have got the first batch of Agniveers. Their training has started in different parts of the country. Many women Agniveers are also included in these.

How many Agniveers are being trained?

The Central Government had told last year that 46 thousand Agniveers would be recruited in a year. Out of these, 40 thousand Agniveers will be recruited in the Army. The remaining three thousand Agniveers will join the Air Force and Navy.

At present, more than 20 thousand Agniveers have been recruited. About 19 thousand Agniveers have been recruited into the army. Three thousand Agniveers have also been recruited in the Navy, out of which 341 are women. Under this scheme, the youth who join the Air Force is called ‘Agnivayu’.

Where is Agniveer’s training taking place?

The training of Agniveers recruited in the Army is being done in many regimental centers. For example, 217 agniveers are being trained at the Punjab Regimental Center located in the Ramgarh district of Jharkhand. and The Training of the First Batch of Agniveers is continue.

Similarly, more than 2,600 Agniveers are being trained at the Artillery Training Center located in Nashik, Maharashtra. At the same time, training is also going on at the Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry Regimental Center. Apart from these, agniveers are being trained in regimental centers located in many states including Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttarakhand, and Goa.

The youth who have joined the Air Force are being trained at the Airman Training School (ATS) located in Belagavi, Karnataka. At the same time, the training of firemen recruited in the Navy is going on at the INS Chilka training base in Odisha.

How long will the Agniveer’s training last?

The training of Agniveers will last for 6 months. After that, they will be posted. According to the Army, the total training of Agniveers will last for 31 weeks. Agniveers will be given basic military training in the first 10 weeks. After this, advanced military training will be given for the next 21 weeks.

Similar training is going on for the Agniveers who have joined the Navy. They are being given the same training as is given to the soldiers who are recruited in the Navy.

How were Agniveers recruited?

Recruitment rallies were held in August last year for the recruitment of Agniveers in the Army. Youths were selected for this. After this their entrance test was taken. Selected youths were called to the training center.

The Air Force took the registration and then the exam in July last year. Call letters were sent to the youth who passed the exam. Their medical test was done and then call letters were sent to the selected candidates for training.

What after Agniveer’s training is completed?

After completion of 6 months of training, the posting of Agniveers will start in July. Agniveers can also be deployed on the border in the army. Because they will be trained in the same way as a soldier is trained. Agnivayu, who joined the Air Force, will be deployed at the airbase. At the same time, Agniveers recruited in the Navy will be given postings on naval ships and airbases.

How much Salary Agniveer will you get?

Agniveers will get a salary of 30 thousand rupees every month in the first year, out of which 21 thousand rupees will come in hand. 33 thousand in the second year, 36,500 in the third year, and 40 thousand rupees in the fourth year.

Apart from this, Agniveers will get an insurance cover of Rs 48 lakh. A compensation of Rs 44 lakh will be given for martyrdom or disability during service.

What will happen after four years?

Under the Agneepath scheme, Agniveers will be recruited in the army only for four years. After four years of service, 75 percent of Agniveers will retire, while the remaining 25 percent will be retained in the army. After retirement after four years, Agniveers will get priority in services like police and paramilitary forces.

After retirement, these Agniveers will not get a pension or gratuity. However, Rs 11.71 lakh will be available under the ‘Seva Nidhi Package’ and no income tax will be levied on it. At the same time, 25 percent of the youth who will be retained in the army will get a chance to serve in the army for another 15 years. During this, the laws and conditions of the army will apply.
